We've welcomed a new sale horse to the group, Dexter, that surprised us all with a great performance at the last minute decision to head to the Millbrook Summer Classic at Coole Park Farm... My goal was to give him a good ride and see what his show ring etiquette was like, and we took 5th in the 0.8m jumpers out of 10. Not a bad start for loping around like a hunter!!!
This week brings a bunch of fun things, the first of which being the Dutchess County Fair where Steve will hopefully learn how to navigate a stadium course and leave the rails where they are supposed to be, and Dexter will show a full division in the 3' so he can show off some of that scope. We also have a schooling event coming up at Larkin Hill this weekend, where we'll try a modified training XC with Steve, and see what Dexter feels up to (though I think we'll just do a novice xc/stadium, we may add in a training stadium :) )...
Life is good and there are a few big potential changes on the horizon that I'm excited for...so stay tuned!
And I'll leave you with this....an early "transformation Tuesday..." Mr. Razz has been off the track for a month....check out his progress!
