It has been a busy spring, getting horses back into shape and ready to be sold, prepared for lessons and showing.
Everyone has been doing fantastic and we have a list of shows lined up that some of our lesson kids will be attending. As for my own personal mounts, it's variable as to who will be around and when, but it's looking like Bam is going to be entered into the Kent School Horse Trials in the end of May (provided he doesn't sell before) after a successful cross country schooling and some really fantastic dressage schooling that he has been doing. Stevie is coming along as well, after getting a little TOO bold after learning to canter fences we have taken it back a notch to revisit the basics and learn to listen. He's definitely going to be attending some jumper shows at the minimum this summer, as well as the potential for some events later on. Jolie is going to be taking it pretty easy this summer. Our goal for her is to be one of our lesson students Short Stirrup horse when she's ready to move off of Ozzy in pre-short and move up :) We are trying to keep her fitness at a point that will keep her safe to do small jumps and tote a kid around, but not so fit that she gets a little wild, a hard line of balance for this one! Toasty has started in work and is an absolute LOVE. He is a little tricky as his nonchalant attitude hides his TB side that comes out on occasion. He's never bad, but is a funny little horse that is going to make someone VERY happy one day.
