The little boy Patch has started jumping, and although he is a bit lazy, he shows great talent for this new job. I think he will be a real competitive force in the hunter arena for some lucky kid or amateur (perhaps even in the near future). I have been tossing a handful of different riders on him so he can get accustomed to different hands and styles on him and he is acclimating well, behaving nearly the same with each and every rider.
Last Tuesday Ozzy had a photo shoot with Brian Wilcox of Connecticut Photo. I was interested to see how he would be after not having jumped in awhile, but he was happy to get back to his "real job." It became blatantly clear that jumping needs to be incorporated into his schedule more often as he was fresh and letting me know this once in awhile deal was not good enough. He jumped around well, and at a decent size and remained sound the day after so it's time to take Oz a bit more seriously now, too!
Tomorrow it's off to the track for a nice off day for our horses and a break for us!
Stay tuned for more going on at Thunder Crest!
