Our summer got extremely busy, with a full house, full show and training schedule and enough horses to pass around to a bunch of working students. Things did start to slow down as winter approached and we are taking a nice break from the crazy, letting most of the horses have some light work and a break before starting up and getting serious for next season.
Stevie competed at a handful of jumper shows and two events - Town Hill Farm was the first where he placed 10th out of a rather large field (hey, we weren't last!) and came in for a strong 1st place finish at Beginner Novice at Kent School Horse Trials in the awful weather we had there. Our sights are set at starting out the new season in Novice and seeing where we go from there.
My students have been doing a bit of horse showing as well. The school horses are taking it easy and it's just the privately owned horses in work right now. They do work hard for most of the summer, so its a well deserved break for us all!
We are wrapping up the new year with about 15 horses sold from Thunder Crest this year. We still have some horses ready to go, so that number will hopefully increase before 2014. We also may be welcoming another batch of horses before the turn of the New Year as well, which we are very excited about.
Hopefully in the future I will be better about posting show updates as well as updates of what's going on around the farm. Our facebook gets updated more often but maybe one day both the blog and FB page will be active sites!!!
